Why Do I Write...???

They say 'a pen is mightier than a sword'. For what I know, they missed saying 'a pen is easier to use than the boneless tongue.'.  When I was asked "Why do you write?", all I could say was that I get to express my thoughts. I still wonder why I wasn't shot with a tranquilizer labelled "Where in the world is your tongue boy? Spit it out if you wanna express. Why do you wanna waste time jotting down?". Well may be because she knew the difference way better than I did.

You know you can't tell that faculty how much you hate him... You know you can't be running around telling the ministers that the public knows how bloody corrupted they are... You know you're in trouble if you had to tell the one you like about how you feel... "I love you",not many have the guts to actually say it.

You need your thoughts to splash out in the crowd... But your voice isn't strong enough to reach them. So what is it to be? Let go of what you had to tell 'em? No! Jot them somewhere, add your expressions, add your emotions, add your feelings, add more, add even more, add much more... Once you know you've let out everything you had to speak out into texts, you're ready to fire.

Writing is all about expressing what you would fail to express when you speak. The basic requirement of having to look into the eyes of the listener and fearing the way they would be triggered to respond when you speak to them, is something that make writing much more simpler as it misses the exact same idea. You do not have to worry about how you look, nor about your voice, nor the damn accent. You may speak and drill your ideas into the minds of hundreds, but the remaining thousands who doesn't understand your cheesy Indian accent blended with an artificial flavor of UK or US English would be light years away from what you tried to tell them.

Hence the advantage of writing! The ones who read, read it in the way they would understand. They decide the tempo and the tone. If they do not understand, they have the choice to read it over again. They have the time to think... They have the time to imagine... They have the time to decide...

To me,spoken words are like the fox-two missiles. Once they are out of your mouth, there is no calling back. They would follow, seek, and destroy the target... On the other face,writing-You can edit it before you launch!

Interesting Land - Tamil Nadu...!!!

Those loud speakers in the auditorium next to my room shouted almost everyday driving me crazy whenever I had to go out. Sometimes for a baby boy's first birthday, or sometimes for that happy souls who got married. Though an insane public nuisance, tolerable for the happy cause. Let them share their happiness with their loved ones. Who can predict tomorrow?

Today, the speakers were loud again. My inability to read Tamil flex and posters stood as a barrier in front of me from understanding what the function was for. I passed by it several times today but never cared to know what it was about as the flex had the photo of a girl all dressed up in saree and decorated with jewellery which forced me to assume that it was yet another wedding.

Dinner time. My room mate and I got out heading towards the restaurant. It was then when he told me that the function was because the girl became major. I said okay and asked him why would they want to celebrate so much for the girl getting a major in some subject. But he then gave me a shock for a life! He said that the girl did not get any major, she just got matured. "Okay so this is her 18th birthday?" He said no! "She got MATURED man! Know what I mean?" And all I could say was W-T-F!?! The girl got matured biologically and they need to tell the whole world about it?! Isn't that kind of weird? But what can I say? One of them traditions! And guess what? The function lasts for around a week in the girl's home where the relatives and close ones will be there for I-don't-know-what reason!

Now this incident made me look back to what I have come across since the day I reached Chennai,Tamil Nadu. They have traditions like you will never get to see anywhere else in the world. Some are confusing, some are interesting. You get to see huge flex prints across the express highways saying about those newly married couple, with their photos along with their favorite movie stars or politicians pasted in it. To them, wedding is more like an advertisement or publicity stunt I must say. Or are they trying to say "Bitches stay away from my man; and dudes, dare you try hitting on my girl."

Another tradition, no offense, a weird and a stupid tradition is seen when someone fall in the hands of death. They dress the dead person's body, plug in cotton inside his nose, take him on a carriage. Take him where? ON THE ROADS MATE! Yeah they take the dead person on the road, bursting crackers at each stop, dancing like crazy on the road, laughing, singing and what not. It occur to me like they are so very happy that the person is no more that they are celebrating his death. And once the dance, flower showers, loud crackers and all other stunts are over, they get their real treat mixed with the smell of alcohol...

I must say it's an interesting land, Tamil Nadu...

R.I.P, Keep Going...!!!

That struck me as hard as Mike Tyson might hit someone if he was pissed. I was shocked and sad when I came to know about the death of that great innovator. A genius who showed all of us that everything is what we imagine to be. If you have the confidence in you to do something, you have everything you need to do it. If I were to be asked for someone whose dreams that changed the world,I'd list Steve Jobs right after Martin Luther King. They had a dream. And they were successful in turning them into reality.

Steve Jobs,he gave a new definition to apple from the fruit we all knew. The apple i series changed everything... Starting with his vision on an awesome operating system-The Macintosh, he moved on to iPod,which trashed all other traditional music players, iPhone, which is more than just a phone, Macbooks, iPad and more. He stuffed in more and more ideas everyday and gave a new definition to every gadgets that existed. One of my friends said, if he had lived for few more years, we would have been witnessing iTelevision and more to the i series. I suppose that it could have been possible too. Sad demise which will stop the world from witnessing more innovations in that aspect until a new Steve is born. R.I.P.

Now to the 'keep going' part. Another genius is on his great thinking now. Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook is now turned out to be a product of full on innovative thinking. You wake up one fine day and realize that your Facebook page is not like what you saw before you fell asleep. It changes everything like a chameleon according to the needs of the users. You can go back to your history just by going through your Facebook page, with the new Timeline concept. Everything changes for good.

Watching those videos of Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg on their conferences made me think of where I stand today. Running as some puppet whose strings are with someone else. They pull them and I dance with it. No thinking work. I just do what others ask me to... Useless life it seems... Who knows... I might do something someday...;)...LOL...:)

Just like my bro's FACEBOOK update, Facebook is now Apple... Everyone talk about Apple on FB showing how much people miss that innovator, and in another perspective, Facebook is growing as same as Apple did...

R.I.P Steve, and keep going Mark...
